Let's face it, the world has been turned upside down by COVID-19 and we've all been impacted. COVIDsucks has been designed to help you process your losses and challenges brought on by this difficult time.
The meetings are facilitated by Melri Wright and Mike Wright from Ledge Leadership. Melri and Mike have 3 decades of experience helping students and young adults process complex emotions and navigate transitional change. As well, they have two university age children and desire to see them thrive through COVID-19.

Many aspects of your life have been destabilized and may have left you feeling isolated, anxious, confused, and potentially a little overwhelmed. Whatever you feel is your greatest loss, our culture doesn't have rituals for processing these losses and moving forward.
COVIDsucks is designed to help you talk about your losses and move forward with optimism and hope. You may not feel comfortable or know how to talk to others about your current losses and challenges. As a result, this program is a unique opportunity for you to work through these struggles by:

The conversations will be held a week apart and we will work with you to ensure you are happy with your group. Your identity and specific responses are confidential and will not be used in any publicized report. The program is not therapy or personal counselling; it is an opportunity to enter into a conversation with others who share your experience.
If you are under the age of 16, we require that your parent/guardian read and sign a permission form to ensure that they are aware of and agree to your involvement. The permission form will be emailed to you after you register. We will also be in contact with you to send you preparation information for our meetings.
The program is for high school and university age students and is not intended for elementary school students. High school age and university age people will meet in different groups.
